World No. 1 wins the Loro Piana Trophy at CSIO Rome - Masters
d’Inzeo at Piazza di Siena, and later that same afternoon wins the Loro Piana
Six-Bar with the 11- year old mare Corrada in the last round jumping the final
fence at 1.95m.

The most important bicycle race in Italy, the Giro d'Italia, dates back to May 1909.
This year the Giro d’Italia started on 4 May 2018 in Jerusalem, and ended in Rome on 27 May.
Chris Froome wins Giro d'Italia 2018 in Rome. He is the first cyclist in 35 years to hold three grand tours at the same time and the first Brit to win the race.

The 2018 edition plans a departure from Brescia, journeying through Padua to Rome and then back to Brescia via Parma. The most beautiful vintage cars in the world are chosen to take part.
FORMULA E RACING IN THE ETERNAL CITY
Rome’s first EPRIX made its debut in the EUR district on Saturday 14th April 2018 as the 18th city to host ABB FIA Formula E, the world’s first all-electric racing series. Circuto Cittadino dell’EUR, a challenging track of 2.84 km in length with a total of 21 turns, where the start/finish line was located on Via Cristoforo Colombo and where the cars were racing around the obelisk in Piazza Guglielmo Marconi. The race was won by the British Sam Bird of DS Virgin Racing.
The initiative was welcome by Virginia Raggi, the Mayor of Rome, who claimed “Rome is a key protagonist in the international landscape, with EUR setting the scene for the first Formula E race in Italy. The future means sustainable mobility, innovation and above all respect for the environment”.
